1.27 Lifeline Projects

  • The major New Zealand cities have carried out assessments of the vulnerability of their lifelines (particularly transport, water distribution, wastewater, communication and electrical supply systems) resulting from earthquake attack. NZ Consortium personnel have been leading participants in these studies to assess the risk, identify cost effective remedial works and develop contingency and response plans. David Brundson has been the driving force behind this, assisted initially by Dr David Hopkins, Director of the Wellington Lifelines Project.
